OUR RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Updated: september 27, 2022

Hospice Prince Edward provides support and service to some of the most vulnerable people in our community, many of whom are elderly, frail, or have serious underlying health conditions.

As we continue to monitor developments and consider Hospice’s response and contingency planning, our priority is the safety of our clients, volunteers and staff. Hospice Prince Edward continues to monitor daily updates from various sources including the Ministry of Health and Public Health. At the time of this notice, Hospice Prince Edward is following the advice of the Public Health Authorities. We have made the following changes to our programs, services and events:

Hospice Prince Edward Community Visiting Volunteer Program:

Our Visiting Volunteer Program has been reopened. Support is being provided by phone or by video when that is an option and during times of high-risk community spread.

Hospice Prince Edward Grief & Bereavement Clients:

For clients who participate in any of our grief & bereavement programs, one-to-one support, via telephone continues to be provided. Grief group sessions are being provided in smaller groups, as COVID allows.

Hospice Prince Edward Residence Visitors:

We are taking extra precautions to clean and sanitize common areas at the Residence. We are temporarily restricting visitors to a maximum of four visitors, per resident at one time. Visitors can expect to be screened upon entry to hospice and if showing any signs of illness, will be turned away at the door.

Thank you to everyone for supporting our efforts to keep Hospice Prince Edward a healthy and safe environment. We will continue our work of supporting those Living with Dying (while NOT sharing germs!).

For any questions or concerns regarding these changes to our programs and services, please contact our main line: 613-645-4040 or email: sarahm@hospicepe.com

Hospice Prince Edward ADMINSTRATIVE OFFICE:

Our Administrative offices are open, however our administrative staff may be working from home during times of high-risk community spread. We will check messages and emails frequently.

Suggestions to stay safe FROM HASTINGS PRINCE EDWARD REGION PUBLIC HEALTH:
