Annual Appeal 2024

Just as we all wish for our dear ones to have the best chances in life, we also desire for them to receive the utmost comfort and care at the end of their life. Hospice Prince Edward is deeply grateful for the support we receive from our generous donors. Their contributions enable us to offer essential support and compassionate care to our clients and their families through our in-home visitation program, caregiver groups, grief and bereavement support, and our residential hospice.

This year's Annual Appeal theme is “Palliative Care in YOUR Community.” Hospice is for everyone… at any age…at any stage of their prognosis. A palliative diagnosis can be overwhelming, even frightening, but it does not necessarily mean that the end of life is imminent. A great deal of living can happen during this time, and Hospice is in YOUR community to help.

We would like to take this opportunity to share a story with you…..

Our residential hospice provided a young grandfather and his family with a private space and kind and compassionate care through his final days. It was an environment where his very young granddaughter wanted to sit by his side to let him know how much he was loved and would be missed. From that experience, this very loving granddaughter has, over the past four years, raised over $11,000 for Hospice in memory of her grandfather through her “Lemonade for Bupa” fundraiser.

Your donation helps us to continue to provide:

  • Round the clock professional, personal care for residents and their families and friends in our residential hospice.

  • A private room in the residence where family members may nap, stay overnight or sit quietly.

  • A comfortable homelike area in our residence where families can gather for a meal, make decisions, plan, reminisce, and yes, even laugh.

  • Resources for our Grief and Bereavement groups and one-on-one grief support, which enable our trained grief and bereavement volunteers to support those who are ill and their family members.

  • Funding to help support programs such as Cooking for One, Hospice Book Club, and group grief and bereavement sessions.

Your donation to Hospice Prince Edward makes this all possible.

In this past year, we have been overwhelmed by the amazing, continued support we received from our community. We thank you for considering donating to YOUR hospice - Hospice Prince Edward, in support of our annual campaign. Through our donors' generous gifts, we can continue to offer at NO COST important and vital hospice services in YOUR community.

Please remember that Hospice is in YOUR community…..for everyone, at any stage, at any age.
