Hospice Prince Edward is a non-profit, charitable organization with a two-fold purpose:
- To assist individuals, their families and caregivers facing a life-limiting illness
- To help people of all ages cope with the death of a loved one and to rediscover life
Hospice Prince Edward is a community resource for palliative care, caregiver education, wellness and support, and grief and bereavement support for all ages.
A life limiting illness is not just a physical diagnosis. The hospice philosophy involves a commitment to address the physical, emotional, spiritual and information needs of people with a life limiting illness.
It also involves a commitment to care for family and close friends during the progress of an illness. Everyone providing care needs to be able to receive support. We have professionally trained staff and volunteers who will be able to assist you.
We believe that, wherever possible, individuals should have the ability to choose to die where they want to die.
